Edit 2/9/19: Took new photos and redid the presentation. I hope you like it more now.
Edit 8/4/14: Scanned this photo to make it clearer and cleaner than the original post. My scanner is smaller than the piece so it was scanned in two sections. Unfortunately I was unable to get a third scan to line up for the wickerwork along the top and my signature on the bottom edge is cut off. The old pictures and more views can be seen via the Etsy link.
Boring title is boring! The original kit title is just "Palm" so... guess I have something going for me there, haha.
This is a cross-stitch piece done by me from a Creative Accents kit. I started it November 9th and finished on January 2nd, between other projects and college. The pattern itself was originally designed by Karen Avery. My Aunt Gina gave me this kit years and years ago, around the time I moved to Arizona. She said if I did it for her I could have it, and I said sure! I saw her this past Christmas and asked if she still wanted it, but she told me to go ahead and try to sell it first.
The actual palm tree and its immediate arch-frame took around 66 hours, which means the other half of the time spent on this piece was all background and frame work. There's a lot of detail stitching put into this piece... I even included a second photo to show it off since, surprisingly, that detail seems to vanish when you look at it straight-on. I picked the piece up and started stitching half way through my final college semester because I needed some down time.
And there was some scattered progress photos on my facebook, but I kept most of the progress images on my personal page as to not flood the feed. You can still see the ones I did post publicly here:
