SPRING SUMMER WINTER
Simplified set: Simple Set (Alphonse Mucha 1896 Seasons)
Portrait set: Alphonse Mucha 1896 Seasons - Portrait Frames
I got licensed to work with some of Alphonse Mucha's artwork and it has slowly eaten away my soul. :v How the man painted these huge (life size) women, and SO MANY OF THEM, it's beyond me. I thought I respected the dude before but now that I'm so hands-on with just a few of the pieces I'm absolutely floored. The work involved... aaaaaa.
I included a photo of my bobbins so that you can see that the colors aren't anywhere near as washed out as my program makes them out to be. All colors are DMC cotton - there's no metallics, beads, or other embellishments. There's a bit over one hundred and twenty-six feet of backstitching throughout this two foot tall pattern. The background is done in half-stitching for a smooth, soft look, and our Lady Autumn and the foreground are done in full-stitches. 222 x 429 stitches.
All in all, it took me 48 solid hours of pattern drawing, color placing, and symbol formatting, with another 2 hours to compile all that information into a readable PDF. That's 50 hours of work, holy moley!

Thank you much! Yeah... tons and tons of work. 50 hours doesn't seem like a lot compared to some of my other projects but this is definitely 50 hours of WORK not 292 hours of relaxation, hahaha.
Wow, I simply cannot express how impressed I am by your work. I mean, Mucha is not an easy topic for any kind of derived work, but you make it a form of art by yourself. One question though: Do you actually stitch the pictures after your work is done?
Thank you for your compliments. I really appreciate it. I sincerely want to stitch these myself; these four seasons from Mucha (Winter on the way), allllllll the princesses I've done with Hannah-Alexander, and the few oddball pieces I've done like the Candycane Queen or Maelstrom. I just haven't had the time to do it between regular work hours and making the patterns themselves, and all the other things I like to do like stitch other patterns by my favorite designers >_> or play video games or read, ahaha... finding the time to do all this is stretching me really thin. For the past year I've been in limbo with it, but I think I'm finally finding a good balance.
