First off, thank you for requesting a critique! ^_^

Those candies look pretty tasty! Especially those butterscotch/toffee looking ones...YUM!

Now, I am not a photographer...so I'll give you my basic impressions. Hopefully it helps! ^_^

I notice that the camera focus seems kinda wonky with the focus. Like it's auto-focusing on the minutia of the carpet....but not the sweets. You may want to check your settings.

Composition wise, I think having your hand in the shot distracts from the candies. Especially the butterscotch/toffee ones. Since they are a warm neutral and your hand is a warm neutral color they kinda blend together.

I would have either taken them in bowl or against a cool colored bg ( cool as in the temp of the color...something more in the blue family)...or picked out some brighter/cooler colored candies to pop out against your hand.

I can tell by your gallery that you are skilled over all with a camera. So, I think just keeping color theory and focusing in mind will help these types of "close in" shots. ^_^

Keep up the great work!

First off, thanks for requesting a critique! ^_^

I noticed in the artist's comments that you referenced the "Balto" character sheet. You stated that you were concerned people might think you are tracing. I don't think you are tracing, just to be clear....and it is fine to look to another artist's work for inspiration.....but in the future...you may want to take the time to reference real life wolves ( like pictures of wolves....don't go out in to the forest at night looking for them. LOL! Though, going to a zoo or game park may not be a bad idea.) .

All of those artists we most admire...usually reference life. Those artists/animators for "Balto" had to go out and actually look at dogs and wolves. Watched how they moved and held themselves. This way you can learn about correct anatomy and you can let your own style really form. Then you won't ever have to put that "I did not trace this" disclaimer in the notes because it's something that is completely, uniquely yours. ^_^

Okay...on to the technical portion of the critique!

I like the color choice. Very pretty shade of blue! However, try to use a lighter hand when using your markers. I can see some streaks in there.

Also, try to plot out a light source before coloring. Based on the eyes...it looks like the top right hand corner. Try to make that light source more pronounced when you color the rest of the wolf. Healthy animals will have lustrous coats that will reflect light. So don't be afraid to use lighter blues to help give that effect.

Line art- Don't use black to distinguish the transition in coat colors. Use what ever color the coat transitions to to mark that off. That way it will look more natural. So, for example, the tail... Use that darker navy color to outline where the tail changes color.

Though, I have to say, your over all line art is very smooth and nicely done. ^_^

Keep up the good work, hun! I hope I could help! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart"/>
