[WiP] Trick and Treat Special [Update: 10/27]

No sketch here, this one is 100% digital manipulation/traced for the sake of looking as official as possible as well as achieving specific look I had in mind and for making it easier to edit/play with the features.

Update 10/27:

finally got around to adding in young Emerald and fixing up the chair a bit. I'm still not 100% happy with how Emerald came out because of just how limited the images I had to work with and, for some reason, how hard it was to find a matching sitting reference that was wearing shorts so I may still play with him a bit. I also tweaked Ruby and Sapphire's eyes to match the slight update I've made to my own style since then. I also still need to find a different lace border that matches the original a bit better, but when all is said and done I may take a crack at doing another full crossover animation. since the storyboard-esque animation used in these Vocaloid videos would be a good way to get used to a new animating program.

Trick and Treat

So, I literally JUST learned that the version I've taken this from is a fan-made PV? Maybe? In either case, it's the one I'm most familiar with. This is also a redo from some odd years ago that I won't dig up but I had the idea to revisit it when the thought hit me that I could potentially use it as an excuse to finally play around with a program I was shown for animating as a potential replacement for Flash.

as for the work in progress here... oh boy.... I had intended for Emerald to be sitting in the chair since he'll be the victim in this crossover scenario but I ran out of time and I'll probably even end up touching up the chair as a whole a bit now that I seem to have found a cleaner version of the video. (my old copy is o grainy that it just KILLED the details) and I realize I also have to add stripes to parts of Ruby and Sapphire's outfits, but again, I ran out of time. I'm also going to keep looking for lace borders, but for now this was the only one I could find that was even enough to cover the bottoms of the feet..... since I didn't completely finish them either since I couldn't see them....

so... yeah... this one might have been more ambitious than it seemed....
