[WiP] Digimental Up: Lynxmon [Updated: 7/2]

No sketch here, this one is 100% digital manipulation/traced for the sake of looking as official as possible as well as achieving specific look I had in mind and for making it easier to edit/play with the features.

Final panel added, but the background is still very tentative... obviously something with fire would make more thematic sense, but then again, Lynxmon's body is going to just blend right in to any flames, so... yeah, I'll have to think about it. (Or, you know... I'm open to suggestions, too...) 

Update 6/25
The next two panels teasing Lynxmon have been added. Well... okay, it's more like a panel-and-a-half since it's just a horizontal flip between the two, but that's how it was in the original sequence and I can guarantee you that they chose a symmetrical feature to tease as a time/buget save for the animation. Either way, I waffled a bit on doing it as "left paw, right paw" but instead settled on the ears since it's Lynxmon's one feature that is telling of its previous evolutionary stage.

Update 6/18
Ninth panel added. As I said last week, WarGreymon had to be traced in from a completely separate image to ensure full detail (and... I ended up having to completely redo him when I let myself think that the  original image could still be used...) but now we're coming into the home stretch and Lynxmon will be revealed!

The next two panels showcasing Agumon's evolutions in the background are added. Sadly, Greymon, MetalGreymon and WarGreymon are all presenting a bigger challenge than I hoped due to the difference in what is an isn't covered up between Flamedramon and Lynxmon. Greymon I managed to still get away with using the image from the actual sequence, but MetalGreymon I had to go and find a completely separate artwork (from an acrylic stand, I believe?) with as similar of a pose as I could get. The same is going to have to happen for WarGreymon. I also slightly went back and tweaked the size and position of Gatomon and Lynxmon's silhouettes in the previous Agumon panel, too since I had originally actually shrunk them a bit in comparison to Nerfetimon's sequence so that more of Agumon and the others could be seen in the background but I changed my mind and now they're the same size as in Nefertion's sequence. (also note: I scaled Lynxmon to Nerfertimon from the beginning)

6th panel added. I had actually intended to do the next few panels all at once so showcase all of Agumon's evolutions in the background, but getting all of the elements together took a bit longer than I was hoping. However, the next three panels will come together since I now DO have all the elements handy.

Not entirely happy with how the text warping turned out here, so I might still play with it a little more, but between Photoshop and Microsoft Word's limited functionality with editing warped text I may have done all I could to make it up as best I could....

Added the third panel in the and tweaked the first one. I've decided that the sequence will now begin with the Digivice flipping over in order to show off the back as well. (Koushiro worked hard on designing those Smartphone Digivices, so they may as well be given some proper respect. ) 

Storyboarding a Double Spirit Evolution for Izumi seemed to go over very well, so I decided to have a bit more fun with another concept that exists in the TCG but never showed up in the anime: alternate Armor evolutions.

For a little extra fun (and since we have a new Zero-Two-based movie coming) I decided to upgrade the D-3 Digivice to the Smartphone Digivice seen in Last Evolution: Kizuna as well as age up Hikari herself to how she appeared in the film, but in doing so I seem to have created a bit of an unforeseen problem: the updated technology most likely means that use of a secondary device like the D-Termal would be rendered obsolete, as it's main purpose was for communication, storing the Digimentals/Digieggs and (possibly) connecting to the internet. Essentially they were Palm-Pilots, ALL of which a Smartphone could do now, so.... yeah, I might still play around with the beginning of the sequence here, and I'm open to suggestions.

Digimon Adventure Zero-Two and all of its characters, including Hikari/Hari and Tailmon/Gatomon belong to Naoyuki Itou, Toei Animation, and any/all other respective owners. I do not own the character in any way, shape or form, I am just a fan!
