''I LOVE YOU!!!''

The next prompt on my February drawing challenge was "love" so I absolutely had to take another crack at drawing my all-time favorite confession from the second Cardcaptor Sakura movie.

Originally, I was going to draw the actual jump at the end of the movie, but the camera was just pulled to far back and I'm too bad at drawing characters in profile to have been able to compensate for the lack of detail, so instead I went for redrawing a magazine spread from an ad for the DVD showing Syaoran successfully catching Sakura after the fact.

As for the sketch.... this one needed a little help. Mostly the hair (as much as I love this movie and this series, DARN whoever did the promo art and their apparent desire to draw every strand of hair!) but I was was able to actually salvage and fix a lot of using my last drawing of Syaoran and Sakura together (which just happens to have been from the same movie ) though most of Syaoran's bangs were traced in because I wasn't happy with my attempt, as well as his nose because it kind of got lost in my sketch when I was working on Sakura's hair.... Syaoran's gloves were traced in too because the dark color made the lines really muddy in my printed reference. Sakura's staff was also filled in using another previous drawing (ironically, ALSO in these same battle costumes from the same movie).
