The house was built in Swiss style country house built entirely of wood from 1869 to 1872 according to plans by Georg Dollman
near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Initially, it was intended that castle on the wank also in Garmisch Partenkirchen located, to build.
Because there no water exists, one decided on the Schachen. The castle served the king as a refuge, in which he some
of his birthdays (25. Aug.) spent.

The King's House on Schachen looks from the outside rather untypical for from King Ludwig II, because the exterior looks more
like a Swiss chalet. The ground floor rooms are set up by his standards rather simple and have a homely style. However, you will
find walls that were covered with pine, some magnificent paintings and ornate fireplaces.

However, the royal family would be no real royal family of king Ludwig II if one could not discover somewhat of his special kind also here.
And it is also because the first floor, he built the Turkish room where you enter it directly immersed in the Orient.
In particular the coloured lead glass windows dip the space in a fantastic light in which beside a fountain countless seat opportunities
are found, embroidered textiles, peacock's feathers and ostrich feathers or gilt carvings. Here was King Ludwig along with his staff to
dress and feel like a king or sheik from the Middle East. A tale from "Arabian Nights".

Unfortunately permits "Bayerische Verwaltung der staatlichen Schlösser, Gärten und Seen" not the publication,
own interior photographs. In order to receive a conception from the Turkish hall to, follow please this link.

    Sorry for my bad English!
