Espejitos is a diurnal butterfly from the subfamily Danainae. Espejitos means „small little mirrors“ and really if one more exactly looks, the fabric appears between the veins like transparent glass or just mirror. And just this it is what makes this butterfly nicest to his kind, because all the same where he is also, he always accepts the colour of his surroundings,

The spreading area stretches from Central America till the south of Texas (USA). The kind lives in clearings on tropical and semitropical rain forests, but also, in the meantime, in gardens and parks where the caterpillar's food plants grow. In the breeding the butterflies lived more than 4 months. The butterflies suck with pleasure at little change roses (Lantana camara) or also at the Indian-silk plant (Asclepias curassavica). Only after three months the first mating was observed in the breeding. Then the egg-laying occurred within less days. The eggs are filed individually to the caterpillar's food plants.

Espejitos - “Small mirror”, with wings like of glass, accepted in the butterfly's house on the island Mainau (Germany).

Excuse for my bad English!
