My Bio
Armchair paleontologist. Dino buff est. 1993.

Favourite Visual Artist
Hallett, Paul, Conway, Henderson, Witton, Spindler, Bénéteau, Martyniuk, Hartman, Sinkkonen, Willoughby, Martyniuk
Favourite Movies
There's an upper limit of characters in this. Let's leave it at that.
Favourite TV Shows
Same as for movies, although it has been hard to be utterly fascinated again as soon as The Wire existed.
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
Too many to list, I guess. Though my initial music socialization was a punk rock-dominated one.
Favourite Books
Didn't read much fiction, and not much nonfiction either. Currently a bit in a Critical Theory/Frankfurt School phase.
Favourite Writers
Read way too few fiction authors to say something meaningful here, although I do my best to catch up with that.
Favourite Games
Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Kart 64, Street Fighter 2, that co-op Ninja Turtles thing on the Super Nintendo; other N64/SNES stuff; PC-based formative classics... up to the present day.
Favourite Gaming Platform
PC, but still <3'ing my old SNES. Not much of a "gamer" anymore. I don't even like the term "gamer", it sounds like dudebro misogynists harassing women at best and sending them death/rape threats at worst.
Tools of the Trade
A sheet of paper, a pencil, visual and textual references, a keen eye. Parsimony. Coffee and cigarettes.
Other Interests
Learning new things I don't have to learn.
... go out to every decent US American. This is a catastrophe for any enlightened/progressive cause, but one that I hope will be kept in check by many of your hopefully shared values as well as the inherent safety mechanisms of your democracy. I don't know if I'm being overly optimistic here, but I hope I am not.The most worrying thing of this incident, to me, is how much it will bolster the rise of this uncivilized, brutal, big strong guy I-don't-give-a-fuck way of politics around the globe, especially in Europe - a place where right-wing lust for ethnicity-based regression is on an all-time high and will meet less of a consensus that demo...

The Deinocheirus piece is killing me, but in the end, I'll finish it. After that, some more easy to draw stuff should see the light of dA.

So you all have seen this . And many of you have had your hands at reconstructing Deinocheirus , first based on the vague information from the Lee et al. abstract, and now from the photos of the skull. I didn't, and I still like to do that not before a detailed description has been published. So mark my words, I might forget it in the following years:When I woke up today, these things happened: a good friend of mine sent me a link to a documentary, in which a gay TV journalist met doctors who considered homosexuality a disease, something curable - something one might expect to be less prevalent in central Europe than elsewhere. Yikes. Af...
