There was this time a classmate told me I needed Jesus. I said, "I'm an atheist."

and then a few classmates surrounding me made a big deal about me not believing in God.

this makes me wonder why religion exists... even though the reasons can be searched by Google.

I don't get why schools just let stuff like this happen, like they should teach kids that others don't have to agree with everything they believe. SMH

My grandmother, the one I live with, grew up Catholic. She put me in a Lutheran school for 10 years c,: Because of that, I am religious, but I don't force it onto others. I also don't preach and spread it around much. I just believe. :T
Screw those classmates D:< lol

Happened to us too. We said to one person, next thing the whole school knew and our teachers was trying to force Christianity on us

Eh, I don't really care about what others believe in :D
Whatever floats your boat, as long as it doesn't hurt others!

The classmates in the status post act like they're offended or something. They make such a big deal of me someone not believing in something they believe in.

I wonder what else they would make a big deal of...

Some will grow out of it once they expand their horizons :) Nothing to worry about.
Also, kids sometimes soak up what influential people in their lives say and believe it's an unshakable truth. It's what all of us do, to varying degrees.
