I was expecting Amgneth to say "yay" again... blah. Just like the last post of band stuff, this won't be in any format or whatever.

On Thursday, May 4th, everybody in Honor and Jazz Band had to be at the school by 11:30 to start loading. We left at 12 AM the following day on a bus.

I probably slept better than most of the people on the bus. Lots of people took a nap that was less than an hour, but I slept a total of five hours. At some point, two boys had this idea of having one sleep on the floor and one in the two seats. I thought it was a good idea, and I told Ellie (the girl I sat with on the bus) about it. She thought I was being weird, but she let me sleep on the floor anyway. yay, leg space someone thought i fell on the floor

We had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. I ate bacon and hash browns... tasty I guess. My toothbrush and toothpaste were in the duffel bag that I loaded under the bus, so no brushing teeth in the morning.

We left to go to WonderWorks. The outside looked like an upside down house, which reminded me of the upside down house in one of the Gravity Falls episodes.

We played laser tag before we left for lunch. The game was a free-for-all. I repetitively said things like "Wort wort wort!" at the start of the game... ima alien
A lot of people were camping despite being told not to. I tried to do an Australian accent and say, "Stop camping, you bloody dolts!" I got around 20,000 points. (insert some random F2P quote or wutever)
Our band director was playing, too. A trumpet player was trying to camp and shoot her, but she always got him... lol

We left for The Island for lunch... I think that was the name of the place. Nothing interesting happened except for our group having to walk all the way when other groups took a tram. Another flutist said, "We got more exercise than they ever will get in their entire lives."

We finally went to our hotel, which was the SpringHill Suites. I was in a room of two other clarinetists and a percussionist. If it wasn't known already, everybody in a room had to be the same gender. We had free time, and this is what happened:

Me: I wanna take a nap. I want to sleep to make up for the hours I didn't sleep on the bus.
Others: Let's swim because we can!
Me: I don't have a swimsuit, and I have to be with you guys because there has to be two people at a--
Others: You're going with us. You can take a nap there.
Me: 'kay.
(we end up getting in trouble because we weren't supposed to swim.)

We left for the Dixie Stampede, which was a waste of my time. I would've fallen asleep if I wanted to during the show of some horse competition between the North and the South and that crap. The only things on my mind were having food (which we did, and it was good) and falling asleep (except that would be rude). We came back rather late.

At 5:30 AM of Saturday, we were supposed to wake up. We were supposed to have breakfast at 6, but something happened so that we had it later. We arrived at Seymour High School to perform for a competition. If you're curious what Honor Band performed, it was (for warm up) "Joyful Journey", "Courage" and "Marching Song". The announcer lady nickname thingy guy whatever said "Marching SonS".

If you want to hear them played them by some other band that is most likely better than us, here are links to YouTube: [Joyful Journey][Courage][Marching Song]. We got first place in both middle school concert band and jazz band, but we sadly got excellent ratings.

We then went to Dollywood and had some fun before going to the Pines Theater for the awards ceremony.

We went back to the hotel, and my roommates and I started talking about instruments. Abigail is a percussionist, and Emily and Ellie are clarinetists.

Me: If we were talking about which is the best out of the choices of percussion, flute, and clarinet, clarinet would obviously not win.
Ellie: (triggered)
Emily: (also triggered) Jennifer, I will attack you.
Me: lol, k. I'm gonna get a cleaning rod and wait for you to come out and attack me. (I was going to attack her with a cleaning rod)

I also texted Emily that flutes were better.

Me: flutes are better
Me: Name some advantages that counter flutes. :T I'll be waiting mwahahahHH
Emily: 1. Clarinets are longer.
2. We can go lower.
3. We can play your music most of the time but you can't play our,
4. We're just awesome. :D (Big Grin) :D (Big Grin) :D (Big Grin)

and so i said a boy might take the first point suggestively
I said that the first point didn't matter, flutes were made to go higher, we don't have the keys to and that clarinets can't do the second C above the staff, and that clarinets use a friggin octave key. I also added coward (lol). I said other advantages of flutes, and then Emily said clarinets sounded better and that it was a fact in the world of Emily. I asked her if she was high on reeds or cork grease, and then I said that she ate cork grease and somehow got drunk.

I'm curious what you guys think about the flute and clarinet battle. We actually have a tuba vs. clarinet war going on right now, and

obviously, tuba is better.

We were able to wake up later the next morning.
I was at a table with the other band students, who were playing with those fidget spinners. Man, those fidget spinners are getting really popular. We were able to stack four or five spinners on top of each other before loading the buses and going back to Memphis.

The bus went to a place in Nashville where Wendy's and McDonald's were next to each other for lunch. One group of people went to Wendy's, and one group of people went to McDonald's. Someone stacked six fidget spinners when we were at Wendy's.

One of my friends was taking a nap. He was leaning his head on the seat in front of him, he was watching "Spongebob Squarepants Who Knew That Guy 10 Hours" on his phone before he fell asleep (he didn't wake up and it was still running), and he was drooling.

At around 5:30 PM, the bus arrived back at my school.

At 3:08 PM of May 8th, I posted this journal for you to read.
  • Listening to: the band playing
  • Reading: sheet music
  • Watching: the director
  • Playing: the flute
  • Eating: reeds, wait i shouldn't do dat
  • Drinking: water

All istruments are beautiful and have different purposes. Every single one of them is important and great in its own way. All the amazing sounds they are able to make and all the gorgeous melodies they can create is the only thing that matters. There's no superiority in this.

but clarinets are clearly superior. reason? well, actually no reason. it's just my best friend goes to musical college and plays clarinet, so yeah, I'm a bit biased

(Insert my tuba friend and me being triggered)
r u drunk on cork grease?

A clarinetist has to worry about cork grease (they won't be able to assemble their clarinet or take it apart), reeds (can't play without it) and that stuff. I think a clarinet has around six pieces, counting the reed and ligature. The flute has only three. Metal lasts longer than wood.

Flutes: head joint, body, and foot joint. All we need is to swab out (unless you have an intermediate flute, then you need to do more things).

Also, flute sounds good playing MEGALOVANIA, Your Best Friend, It's Raining Somewhere Else, and other Undertale music.
