and we're kinda stepping out of the PG zone there whoa girl.
(shout out if you feel this should be Mature'd...)
"sweet clichés of fanfiction hell", indeed, again, Sarah. Except I daresay that one particular cliché, the lovely lovely recurring fanfic scene of our antagonistic OTP involving one party getting pinned up against the wall/door, threatened with the inevitability of things to ensue, and confronted with evidence of their physical reaction to the enforced proximity as a sign of their denied attraction WELL I think it usually plays out the other way 'round, ne?
(Ceci n'est pas une plainte. Also, guilty.)
Nor did I quite expect to ever hit this note in GND. what hey!
[This page probably owes something to a JS-relevant tumblr post about looking at boners while fighting. You know who you are.]
This is a work of fanart and solely intended for shits and giggles. Not mine, not making money from it.

Based on the original Roommates comic by *AsheRhyder
It's timey-wimey. The characters in the comic have a vague awareness of their fictional nature and the works they hail from in our RL timeline, and Sarah is somehow starting on her second Bachelor's... while not having aged past 19.
My favorite form of fanservice so far SQUEEEE I love the wall-pinning trope with all my heart and ten times more when its the scary-sexy-intimidating-Goblin-King against the wall. And the height difference and eye-contact in the second-to-last panel? *enthusiastically drawn out chefs kiss and another squee on top*
And I strongly suspect he has hit the nail on the head with "You want to be queen all the more if it is to spite me"... it's not just Jareth who gets his bluff called (or suffers an involuntary subconscious reaction!)
And actual tenderness out of Jareth before the inevitable smug in the last panel
Like, this page actually brings it up as plot-ish point, but this is becoming an increasingly recurrent problem: rampant UST and tight pants is all very well and exploitable in fanfiction, but for a visual medium....
(nah, stray pencil line)
