a linked xform is a transform which can be obtained by right click on a transform in the xaos tab and click " add linked xform". This tutorial uses "shared linked xforms" which are differerent (work on multiple instead of 1). Just follow the instructions in the tut on the xaos tab and it will be fine. It's just terminology.
