Valentine's Day Bacteria

 Happy Valentine's Day, y'all

Bacteria reproduce asexually, which means that they don't need to find a partner to reproduce. Instead, they undergo binary fission, which creates daughter bacteria which are genetically identical to the parent bacteria. SO, bacteria have different ways of sharing their genes to mix up the gene pool, so their offspring won't be the same as themselves.

One of those ways is conjugation. Which is basically bacterial sex.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

I love biology jokes :XD:

Hi - LOVE this. Not sure how it works, but can I use this in a blog post and cite you?

Wow, very nice. I wonder if I could make a game based on this. I remember reading about the collective intelligence of bacteria colonies and thinking that it could make for a cool game. :D

Time to hit up Wikipedia: [link] :p

Any suggestions for other references I should look into?

I guess you could look at images from science magazines and stuff... I actually have no idea. :XD: I took references from my biology textbook
