I have been looking forward to ROCKSTAR's "L.A. NOIRE" for some time now. I bought it the day it came out and have been slowly chipping away at it a few times a week. I've pumped a number of hours into the game and the holes are starting to appear...
The time period has been nailed perfectly, great soundtrack, interesting cameos from character actors, and it has some classic stories that tie in with real events events. Its not that I don't like the game, I really do enjoy playing it but it can frustrate the fuck out of you.
The problem isn't that the cases are particularly hard to solve. Its the options for interrogating someone, the choices are simply "doubt" "lie" and "truth" and you will have no idea what the character is going to say! You can choose "doubt" because you might not have evidence connecting the suspect directly to the crime. The character who you play as will then start accusing them of being the criminal mastermind behind a crime that they're obviously a small part of! I could go on and on about how the gameplay shits me but this video does all the complaining for me:
