Today, 33 years ago, one of the most creative and influential musicians of the pop music died. In honour of his life and work, I put together a typographic art feature, showcasing the creativity he still sparks into us until today.

John Lennon

As founding member of The Beatles, he, Paul, George & Ringo wrote history. The 'mopheads' from Liverpool, UK, set out to conquer and change the world. Up until their break-up in 1970 John Lennon and Paul McCartney became one of the most successful songwriter couples in history.

After The Beatles, he continued his solor career and wrote his signature song "Imagine" – the dream of a better world. He spent his last years in the USA, moving between New York and Los Angeles.

On December 8th, 1980, he was shot in front of his New York apartment.
