Let's start with a big THANK YOU to the community! :la:
To everyone who suggested Daily Deviations to me or took part in challenges, contest, commented on the journals and the DDs (srsly, do that!) and was supportive in whatever way!

A second Thank you to the awesome team of Community Volunteers and moonbeam13 who does such an amazing job in keeping us all sane and together. ( I suspect it works both ways, but shh!)  Also to dxd, fourteenthstar & ikazon who support the team, too! You're an amazing bunch and I am glad to know you and be able to work with you! :tighthug: :eyes:

Okay, let's dry our eyes and continue with the business :stare:

CRTextandTypography

On January 1st I started the group CRTextAndTypography to showcase the Typography DDs and to host contests and challenges.

The two challenges that were successfully launched this year:
The Paintbucket Challenge: Results!Today's feature is all about the groups previous (and first) challenge: The Paintbucket Challenge ! A lot of deviants took part in this project and I love the outcome :la:For those of you who are "new" to this group, here's the idea again. And don't fret, right after that you will see the results :XD: The Paintbucket Challenge The idea of this challenge is to create some fancy letters using only a template with a grid on it and the Paintbucket tool to fill the grid's shapes. I got this idea from :devbetteo: who hosted the original ALPHABET.CONTEST in 2009.I thought it would be a great challenge to be part of :devcrtextandtypography: tha... Trajan Replacement Challenge: Results!Today's feature is all about the groups previouschallenge: Trajan Replacement Challenge ! Unfortunately the participation was not much. Feedback on whether the subject was too complicated or whatever was the reason for not taking part is greatly appreciated :)I will quickly retell the challenge and the submissions will come right after :eager: Trajan Replacement Challenge The main objective of this challenge is to evaluate the appropiate interaction between meaning, words, lettering and typefaces. The goal is to create a type treatment, or typographical logo, that focuses on one word or phrase as its main focus. The idea is to find a movi...

For those of you new to the topic, let's start with a short explanation :la: Typography is the art and technique of arranging type in order to make language visible.Pretty simple, eh? Basically as you are reading this you are "reading typography". What I will refer to in this article is digital artistic typography , though. This is not the everday typography you see on street signs, books or on websites.:thumb332791123: :thumb327494309: :thumb300683313: :thumb252321676: ...

Another popular form are Mirror-Image Ambigrams, which result in the same artwork when flipped horizontally or vertically. Some artists manage to place two words in one Ambi...
