A Guide to Buying Your First Adoptable DesignAdoptables Week
Hello everyone, I'm finakiyomo and I am a guest writer for the projecteducate Adoptables Week.
In today's guide, I will give you some general hints and tips on purchasing your first adoptable design based on my own personal experiences. I really hope that this guide will make it easier for those of you who are new to the world of adoptables, and even maybe refresh your memory if you happen to be an experienced adopt consumer!
Choosing a Design
Okay, so let's say you are a newbie when it comes to adoptables (also called "adopts" for short), but on DeviantArt, there are so many designs being uploaded on a daily basis. How do you know which one to choose?
Well, the answer to that is simple, really. The character you buy is usually based on your preferences, as in, what kind of color palettes you like, what kind of creatures you love, and you might even decide that they're going to match your personality. They could be your m

News (Website + Instagram) + FeaturesNew Website + Instagram
I've recently started my own website with a blog attached to it where everything I do will kinda come together: from my photography to my advanced edits and photomanips to stock (blog posts with stock usually link here, BUT there is a little extra available each time) and of course tutorials.
I plan on coming back to doing video tutorials, too. I already got some new audio gear and hopefully that'll take care of my noise problem Won't take care of my time problem, but hey
If you have something you'd like to see me ramble on about, feel free to suggest!
Aaaand I have started posting to instagram as well and I'm having great fun posting pictures I mostly take on my way to/from work (
Adoptables for NewbiesAdoptables Week
For some, adoptables are a thing of mystery. What are they? Why are they? Should we fear them, and are they FDA-approved? For others, they are a point of contention: Who wants them? Who is buying them? Why not draw one yourself?
Whatever adoptables are, they raise a lot of questions, and for many, a lot of confusion. Really, they're a very simple concept that can give way to a lot of fun and creative opportunities. But adoptables are drawings and cannot argue their side, so that's why they hired me. I'm Yseulta, and I hope to clear up some of these mysteries!
What Are Adoptables?
For something shrouded in so much mystery, adoptables are really simple. They’re just a drawing of something – usually a character design, but it can also be things like creatures, outfit designs or weapon/item designs – that you can “adopt,” or buy.
Artisans and Functional Art - August 2009 Featuring Fine Workmanship by Artisans
This is the seventh in this series that features art by members of the Artisan Crafts gallery that I feature daily in one of my journal modules. I add one each day and each is featured for 24-48 hours and then all are featured at the beginning of the next month as a group. These artisan works are found through my casual browsing and they could be very recently uploaded or they could be older works. They could have been made by very well-known artisans, by someone still unknown, or by someone very new to dA. They are random finds, so one gallery might be represented more than another and one artist might get featured more than once in the same month. My picks are totally random finds and that which struck me as something wonderful... I hope you think so, too, and that you enjoy this series!

If youve been inspired to customize your own clothes and dont know where to start, here are some ideas:
1. The thrift store is your best friend. Youd be surprised by all the amazing things you can find there. I recently got a beautiful jacket with a corset backing for just five dollars.
2. Screen printing is a great way to put your own designs on clothes. If youre feeling ambitious, check out this video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee_8IMx0uMo&featurelayList&p=7000A6A25CCD6ACC&index=14 If youre like me and prefer an easier, quicker approach, I
Applying icons in Windows XPThis article will show you how to apply icons on your Windows XP system and will cover various types of icons and provide tips on changing system icons.
Icon file format (.ico)
These are the standard icons that you may experience.
The following steps will show you how to apply them:
1. Download the icons (if already downloaded skip to 2).
2. Once downloaded extract the icons (if compressed in a zip/rar file otherwise go on to step 3) using a decompression utility such as Winzip or Winrar. Extract the icons to a directory such as "Harddrive > windows > icons" or any directory you wish.
3. Next, locate the folder or shortcut who's icon you wish to change. Right click on this folder/shortcut and select "Properties" in the menu that appears.
4. Wait for the Properties dialog window to open.
