The reason why we write this expalantion is because we've seen lots of rules in other groups such us "minimum 2 images used to be considered a photomanipulation".
Here we don't follow that. Simply because we understand that if you retouch an image (not just change the colour), for example, add make up, reshape the eyes, or lips, or the whole face... that is a photomanipulation.
You can use only two images and paint with brushes to create particles or the effects you want and that is a photomanipulation.
Now there might be trouble with those works which are more like collages. Cut from the background images put in a background. We have a novice folder and that kind of images even if they aren't done by a beginner will be moved to the Novice folder. Why do we do that? We understand that if you haven't fixed lighting, and added other things, just put the imagein the background; it's because you don't have much experience using photoshop's tools, or doing photomanipulations.
BUT, we try to be as careful as we can when "judging" this things because we know we all hate when people pre-judge our work without knowing how much effort we put in it. That's why if we have trouble deciding if we should accept a work, we'll check your gallery and compare.
However if we denied a submission and you think we were wrong, just write us a note, we might have been wrong ^^
ENJOY and Thank you for your support
