Love the look and feel and when you combine that with the title it really tells a story and that is exactly what photography should do, the only criticism I have is that one tree in the foreground on the right that is a bit out of place and distracting from the main image but then you do not get any choice on these things. When you take that tree away the rest form really nice leading lines into the image and I find I am looking and waiting for something to happen.
Well done on the film processing, beautifully sharp and the contrast is perfect

I would have love to be able to view it in a higher resolution as I have a 4K monitor but it still looked fine when stretched.
I fine example of 35mm photography.

Very impressive work showing a lot of thought and planning, I am not convinced the scissors are doing anything other than clutter and giving a slightly distracting highlight, some times just that one extra element can tip the balance and an image should have the least amount of elements as needed to communicate its intent. The scissors are not by any means ruining the image and I can see the story behind them being there.
All things aside this is very nice work and the lighting is perfect and certainly going in my faves.

This is an excellent portrait and the fact that it is a self shot makes it even better , self shooting is very hard to do but you seem to be just as good in front of the camera as you do behind it .

I like the lighting on this and it shows of your face beautifully.

IT would have been nice to see a bit more exposure on your face and to lesson the highlight on the left side of your forehead but it is not all that bad.

All up a very nice pleasant shot that portrays you very well.

Hey Tommy , I just had a look at your gallery and I did notice some of the shots where the model was smiling and oh what a beautiful smile she has , I know the look you mean but I dont think she is the best model for the non smile look .

I like to see both hands as well but I feel it would have been better for her to have her right hand a lot more visible rather than having it poking out a bit as it is , these sorts of things you dont notice until after the shot is done so you realy have to be a lot more self critical of your work and look for these little distractions .

Muslin back drops are horrible to be honest they are only good if you dont want a flat background , the shots on my gallery where there is a cloth background are all using muslin and that is after sever hours of steaming and ironing , it can be ok if you have the room to put some space between the backdrop and model and blur it with a wider aperture but this will also make your backdrop smaller .paper is by far the best as you can see in some of my photos .

Hard to say what to do about the lighting but I would not have used soft boxes for this shot , I would have used maybe whit brolly s to light the background and a beauty dish for the model , but this may not work well with digital , I am a film shooter so things are a bit different . As you can see I am a B&W junkie and a like high contrast so it realy is just a personal preference .

Not to bad for a first studio attempt :)

Nice shot and attractive model .

What I do like about it , I love the white on white look , not easy to do and even harder with digital however you have managed to get detail in the shot .

I also like the fact that you have not cut any of the model off so framing and composition is good .

What I dont like about it , The model looks bored as anything , the look on her face is saying " hurry up and take the damn shot will you " there is nothing to engage the viewer and you would have got more personality from a mannequin

Posing is terrible , the strait arm makes her look a bit strained sitting there
and her right hand is just a distraction .

Background is realy bad , I have used cloth backdrops and think they are the worst thing to use ,no matter what you will never get them flat and the folds and wrinkles really distract from the image , I have a few photos in my gallery that have the same problem ,then I started using a paper backdrop . The model sitting on wrinkled sheets looks good but not behind her .
Lighting and contrast is as flat as a pancake and it would have been nice to see it a bit more high key , you could possibly fix this in post editing but it is better if you dont have to fix it at all .

Hope you like my critique , I only give them to photos I like <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
