Have been him? For sure it is so much better! I hadn't think this, but you're right, why be the master's model if you can be the master?

Lady with an ermine? Anyway, it looks like renaissance

i have no idea what ermines have to do with anything but yes, the drawing by Leonardo that inspired this photograph was, naturally, as everything Leonardo did, done in the Renaissance.
thank you for your visit

Lady with an ermine is part of Czartoryski collection and exhibited in Cracow, so this is the only Leonardo's picture I'm quite familiar with, real piece and not photo :) So don't be suprised she comes to my mind first... A similar face, too. Interesting thing about ermine is, this is not really ermine and nobody knows what is it, this furry animal she's keeping. Some think it is some extinct species and some think this is a sci-fi picture; alternative world, alternative fauna.

Maybe it is! Maybe he had drawn it from memory. Because some people claim there are little details which don't fit any real animal. But they are same people, who tried to check what ilnesses did Mona Lisa suffer from the look of her iris on a portrait.

It's pretty cool how close you've gotten to here. I especially like the square format and how it makes this piece more unique. The lighting is quite interesting as well. I like how the whole... purity of the whiteness is reflected in her expression, the make-up, and so on.

Or rather, it feels like she's wearing make-up? O.o

An interesting take on things.

thank you my friend :)) she (it's me) is wearing red lipstick, but other than that I left most of the face (eyes etc) natural, I was going for that cense of "clean" so I am really glad it shows :)
I am really keen to do b&w for a while now, but somehow, I always feel bad about sacrificing the colour (which is not surprising in my macro shots, but I think I can handle losing the colour in people-shots)
 thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it

thank you Anna, it was my third serious attempt at b&w conversion, i am pretty happy with the tones (considering I no longer have full photoshop so I can't do it with channels, which is the way to do it)

I thought it worked very well - also, there seems to be a very slight tint to it which makes it even nicer.

thank you, my dear :)) yes, I duplicated the straight b&w conversion a few times, and I had layers with 25% sepia filter and 25% yellow, so I selectivelly deleted areas, the face has sepia with 40% opacity yellow filter, and towards the outside the underlying straight b%w is visible, so the tones draw the eye in to the face without the whole pic being too yellow
otherwise, just b&w was somehow cold, it needed a bit of warmth :)
