Falling into Faith
Darkness evades my focus
and I find myself wandering
along the broken edges of my thoughts,
clinging to the cracks
and clutching the concrete
but the rocks seem to cast me off
and I fumble with my grasp
on the facts
or are they fable?
upon seeing the iridescent pools before me
i suddenly believed there was something else-
a place other than the one i know so well-
this place that i cannot get to
is there right before me,
and others cannot see or believe
even when the information is there-
right there in front of them
The glassy surface of water surrounds me
and my resolve begins to dissolve
into fairytale truths that carry me under
to suffer in the silent sound.
But then I feel something sever
within my soul
and my faith is free.
It breaks through the cold
and captures me up again.
After a quiet moment of self-censure,
I find that I can see
I have always seen.

Making of a Wishing Star
Three robin feathers...
Three drops of morning dew
A shell from the deep sea...
A dream from a butterfly
There was a time before
When she'd stare at the night
The hoofbeat of a deer...
The shadow of a stormcloud
She'd look for falling stars
Flying down, burning bright
A song from a nightingale
Hailstones fallen in March...
Seven years of childhood
And seven more after
Dreams That Were Lost
Hands and sweat went into making this dream,
But here it sits alone without a light's gleam.
The plumbing exposed much like our family enigma.
This house was once loved, leaving in my mind a stigma.
Out that window is a swing that use to sway,
We would lie amongst blankets during the day.
Here the yard sits isolated by the vines and brambles.
Black and white a home left in shambles.
A world of color is now in the monochrome of life.
Cheers of laughter taken away by moments of strife.
Dust covers and divides all that was cherished,
A sense of childhood innocence has been devoured and perished.
Pots scattered much like the love this home once felt,
A hallucination of the mind's eye and where we dwelt.
Wooden planks no longer hold a child's footsteps and pace,
But are covered in a past of mold, mallice, and is now debased.
It once fel
Autumn SpiderwebsSpider webs ring me
With crystal drops of morning dew
That shine from amidst their cage
That traps them till the sun arrives.
Autumn brings with it happy days
Of bright blushing skies when dawn arrives
With each breath of crisp air tickling my lungs,
My heart pounding out it's warmth to my limbs
And the sweet burn of coco down my throat.
The leaves change from green to gold
To bright scarlet red with a dash of cool copper.
Each step on the path before me
Brings the crunch of fall as I jump from leaf to leaf
Slowly winding my way home
With exertion a warm fizz under my cheeks and sternum.
The birds sing a path through the trees
As I walk through the woods to my home.
Tonight I shall bundle up on my back porch
And as the night draws close,
I shall watch the dew gather on spider webs.
Autumn has come at last.
On your socks, I swear.Step on me daily. Use me as you like.
Hop and jump and run. I'll pedal your bike.
On land and on water, I'll protect your feet.
Each day of my life, the ground I can meet.
Let me be your shield, the guardian of your soles.
Always count on me though time might give me holes.
Cause even if you'll trade me for a brand new pair.
Each time you need to go, I still can take you there.

Let's Go Back to the StartStop.
Just one photo
Standing on my mantle
Glitter, silvery and ethereal
Confetti stuck to your shiny face
Your strong arm around my waist
My only evidence
Watching me every day
Our smiling lips connect with sparks
Your eyes closed, mine wide with wonder
Everyone cheered, we couldn't be bothered
And new beginnings
ChampagneRaise your crystal flûte
Of liquid chromatism,
And watch how the sequins
Catch the coloured light,
Bursting to the brim and
Frothing forth, sweet and dry
In a fluid spray of fizzing sparks:
Essence of sunshine.
Clink, echoes the glass
As it chimes, once then twice:
A crisp, clear peal to ring in
The season's merry tidings,
Endings and beginnings;
And you toast to the future,
Drinking to health and fortune,
To friendship, to love,
To peace and goodwill,
A toast to celebrate life.
