The Photo-Europe Group exists to promote photographs of Europe that show its varied and interesting character. So the emphasis is on a documentary style where photos are informative rather than just artistic.
There are many photographic groups, so to keep our identity we have a set of objectives or rules for what we accept.
Objectives / Rules of the Group
We accept only photographs, which were taken by the person submitting them. We do not accept pictures which have been produced by or modified by AI.
Each photo should clearly show an aspect of Europe. That might be its culture, landscape, urban areas, architecture or monuments such as statues. We do not accept photos that are unclear or very minimalist or very close-up with no context or that have been heavily processed or manipulated.
Each photo should have the name of the country in either the title, the tags or the description, even when it is of a well-known place such as Rome.
Do not submit pictures which are almost identical, we like variety! If in our judgment some pictures are too similar, we will select only the one that in our opinion is the best.
Photos should meet the DeviantArt and general legal standards in force at the time.
Nudes are not accepted (artistic or not), though photographs of nude sculptures that are on public display can be.
There will always be borderline cases where people might disagree over interpretation. The current Admins are volunteers and we ask you to respect their judgement on these objectives.
