Strixlan (stage one)

Strixalba's Phoenixdex Entry

Strixalba always stare intently at any living thing that enters their line of sight, even if they have to turn their heads all the way around to keep watching it. Many people find their constant gaze unnerving and move quickly to get away, but the Strixalba often fly after them for a while to watch them some more.

Strixalba's name comes from strix, Ancient Greek for owl, and Xibalba, the Mayan land of the dead, but funnily enough "Strix alba" used to be the barn owl's binomial name (it's now Tyto alba). Huh.

A creepy bird that stares at you and twirls its head to look at you like in 'Exorcism' and flies to FOLLOW you and gaze at you some more? Oh crap. :ohnoes:

Heh, I didn't even think of Exorcism. It's even creepier than I intended it to be! :D

Haha, that sounds like a pretty cool idea, too! There are so many more creative things people can do with owl fakes, I think.

Hahah that would be quite creepy, though I'd be tempted to have a staring match with it :stare: I once outstared a soft toy (it's true, I stared until it fell of a shelf :giggle:). But who could be scared, it's so cute :eager:
