yeap, i finally begin to translate ( em no, I begin to ask other people to translate it >__< ) my strips again hehe
This is amazing. Sauron is at his best during the Downfall of Numenor and you've captured the essence of that so well here. It's chilling to know everything he looks at in this picture, he wants to destroy--the West, Ar-Pharazon, the White Tree he so casually mentions, Numenor itself--but he doesn't let on ANY of this. The defiant but civilized captive, too sincere to flatter... and yet he IS flattering, so subtly ("It's best to be sincere with clever men") as part of playing the long con.
Sauron is known as "The Deceiver" and the idea of something that absolutely HATES you taking a form it knows you will trust, and slowly building your confidence for centuries though plotting your downfall the entire time... it's a frightening idea, and seeing this comic is the first time I've really been able to imagine it. Excellent work on all fronts.
