Winds of Change by Philipstraub Winds of Change by Philipstraub
An older piece of mine but, still one of my favorites. The image is really a visual metaphore for what happen to person during change in thier lives. This piece is interesting to me since some people don't see the figure right of and its sooo obvious to me...mostly because I painted it, I think:)

Enjoy and I hope you like it

Phil

Thorn elemental

5 colourless 2 green mana cost.

Whenever thorn elemental deal damage to a creature, u may deal that amount of damage to defending player instead.

7/7 creature.

I never thought i see this print larger then the one in the card :P

Works like this one, show us how much we are small .. and how much we aren´t observant..
Life is done from that, from small details, and if we are able to look at them, we are lucky

Excellent work, works as these do not need many words .. because they do not exist, just sensations!

Very nice color use; dramatic and sort of eerie. Love it!

I don't know if you've seen it or not, but this reminded me of the animation style in Pink Floyd's The Wall.
The colors really fit what is going on in the work too.. yay!

How blind do you have to be NOT to see the figure, especially with the thumbnail!
A gorgeous interpretation, I have to say, like a lot of your work!

Actually, I could see the human shape of the figure immediately, and it surprised me, when I clicked the thumb, that it wasn't actually a person! XD

Simply one of the coolest paintings I have ever seen and the way you implemented the figure up at the top is awesome. Wonderfully creative and inspiring!

This has some of the best dynamic movement I've seen in a painting. I love the details also. The rich textures and desaturated hues flowing together in such a chaotic way. The whole image lends itself in every way to make me feel the torment, the winds ripping through the poor soul, being pulled this way and that, fighting to stay up. A very powerful image. Well done. I'm honestly in awe :)

You've done a really good job with the motion. I can feel the torment and indecision. And I think it's interesting that there are 'binds' holding the figure back. But it's empty on the one side. It could be someone moving against the tide, or it could be someone being blown into the unknown. For me it reminds me of gaining independence from family and getting out on your own. Well done.

you're incredible man, if I had money and you were to make prints I owuld buy everyone of them : ) this one is epecially good, the colors-great, the idea-wonderful, just everything about it is really good, and the spider web down in the left corner, i think brings it all together perfectly

cheers :ahoy:

All so wind swept. I really like this one - the details, leaves and lighting of the sky - beautiful. I see a figure that looks drained - yet is on the verge of renewal because of the elements. Brilliant work once again.

Wow, you don't know how much I love this picture! Probably one of my favourite paintings ever. I didn't "figure" it out right away either, until I saw it in d'Artiste, probably because of the higher resolution and and I was like WHOOOAAA! That is completely awesome! :D

It's a really nice array of whipping forms and leaves and all. Good metaphor, though Fall is often used in this way.
