Description
He had one goal upon entering Manila: to find Ligaya and bring her back home from the clutches of Mrs. Cruz, who had tricked her with false promises. However, the news of Ligaya's death had sent him into a downward spiral, added even further when he was trying to survive the urban jungles. Not letting her death go unjustified, he took it upon himself to murder her killer (Ah-Tek), resulting in an angry mob to chase him down... unaware of what truly happened.
Before Madiaga would bite the bullet, he was suddenly saved by Max Caulfield, who has watched his life play out to see if he has potential. She offered him a chance to save his lover again. In exchange, he would help her with one mission, to further see if he has the will. Taking his chances, he accepted the deal and went on that mission... succeeding it without being noticed. As promised, Julio was sent back to save Ligaya; taken to a timeline where his alternate had died very early in his search. Following the beats with the knowledge he had from his original timeline, he was able to reach his lover in time and change her fate to live. Meanwhile, Max - having been touched by Julio's commitment - went after Mrs. Cruz and Ah-Tek behind the scenes, cutting them out to ensure that they won't become a nuisance.
Feeling a great debt to Max's efforts, Julio would eventually join her task force - The Alpha Monsters - years later, fighting alongside his commander through many fronts and timelines. As a result of his recruitment, he racked up a millennia of knowledge to become well-versed in his missions, spreading that knowledge to his homeword to further advance the 1970s era. Despite this, he views Ligaya and the Alphas as family.
Unlike Max and the others, there's one trait that both baffles and intrigues the other members: he prefers to be non-lethal.
