Alright ladies and gentlemen, it's confession time: I am not an artist, nor do I intend to become one. However, over the recent years I have come appreciate those who can take an idea and give it life with their artistic talent. To me, it's almost magical what a talented artist can do, and because of this, I wish to encourage everyone to do all that they can to help support those who are pursuing their passion and dreams in the world of art.
When I was growing up through high school (and even college to an extent) I was never able to find something that I was truly passionate about. Oh sure, I picked up the odd hobbies here and there, but I never was able to choose a career that I deeply loved. Yet, after talking with several artists over the past few weeks, I was dismayed to hear how difficult it was for some of them to actually make a living doing what they enjoyed: namely drawing.
As someone who never found his passion, it hurts to think that other people are not capable of doing what they love in order to pay the bills. Therefore, I've decided to make it my personal goal to help promote talent whenever I can, and I would like to encourage others in this community to do the same as well. Patreon, for example, is an excellent website that can really help launch an artist's career, and even a donation as small as $1 or $2 a month can go a long way to helping someone live their dream.
So please, ladies and gentlemen, if you really do admire an artist's work, don't be afraid to give them your support, for talent is truly something that should NEVER go to waste, and everyone deserves a chance to pursue what they love.
