Thanks!  Also for your :+fav:s.  I love the kind of thing that you and a few others such as Dinkydau are doing with Kalles Fraktaler and the one or two other superfast deep Mandelbrot explorers.  There's not a lot of it here on dA - but quite a lot worth checking out on Fractal Forums!

My pleasure :) I know exactly what I mean. It has been nearly two decades where fractals have been merely a graphical tool among other tools, and many fractal artists seem to have a very little clue of the history of fractals. Yeah I know fractals is a very big subject, also IFS may be used for pretty pictures, rtc. But to me it seems that raw classical deep zooms of the M sets have come back much thanks to Dinkydauand SeryZone, and that already before the new revolutionary algorithm was published i KF and Mandel Machine. It will be incorporated also in the new version of UF (UF6) according to Slijkerman :)

I've always been pushing for the fractal exploration in my deviations and journals, and by loinking to my Chaotic series of fractal articles ..Thanks for your comment :D

Thanks, Mark! Have a look at Fractal Forums and the various threads by Pauldelbrot: "Twistor World", "Seahorse Odyssey", and "Mandelbrot Safari" and you'll see where this comes from. He made a couple of versions of a colouring for UF based on his own algorithms and it's those that I'm using. I just love the results, and the definition at high resolution and 3600 x 3600 is really something!

I just purchased the PC version of UF. I haven't even really opened it yet, as I'm not in a place where I want to attempt to learn a new program - as you say - there just aren't enough hours in the day - and retirement, for me, is not coming any time soon!! In fact, over the next few weeks and months, I will be working a ton of extra hours with the coming of Mountain Lion (10.8)!!

I found the thread and bookmarked it for a rainy day(s)!!

Thanks very much - also for the watch! Not as prolific here as I used to be, I'm afraid...!
