This is amazing... wish I could use Apophysis, looks amazing but I wouldn't know what to do with it

Thank you!  It's an old one I haven't looked at myself for a few years but, seeing it now, I'm still quite happy with it!  There are lots of Apophysis tutorials around and it's quite easy to pick up!

Excellent work here my friend, and a nice tribute one of the great Brit rock bands.

How long to render?
Pharmagician's avatar
An hour and a quarter, at 1920x1200, 7500 quality, oversample 2...

Patience is a... etc.
Pharmagician's avatar
Oh, an hour and a quarter is nothing! I've had Apo renders take 8 hours...

;-)

I know. I tried once.

One of the first FE's I did recently took over 7 hrs. I was so surprised. There maximum iterations were too high. Well it was nice. :)

It's interesting how little time most FE renders take - I rarely have anything take more than 20 minutes, and most are baked in around 10!

:-)

Yes. It's really pleasant. It encourages me to make very big ones to avoid anti-aliasing them.
I think Apo is the worst.

Great.
When I asked my old dad how he was on the 'phone, he used to say "Oh, hanging on manfully!"
He was over ninety.

So this reminds me. :)

...And yet there are rainbow caverns and prismatic sprays just inside the dark. I don't find this image depressing at all...just deep and subtle and beautiful.
