Bookmark designs. Yep.

the Mermaid was random. I didn't know what else to paint.
The second one is supposed to represent Autumn, inspired by a scene in Strange & Norrell, in which a lady is described as wearing a dress 'the colour of autumn'.
The last one is phoenix-themed.

Gouache on 300g/m2 watercolour paper. Each is about 3.5x15cm, and they probably took about two hours each.
(I think I'm starting to get the hang of this painting thing - it's a nice break from copics because I can just paint right over the pencil without having to ink.)

aww, thanks!

this is the first time I've been entirely happy with the faces... I only just figured out that I really need to outline in a darker colour for contrast, especially on this small of a scale. otherwise it's like you need glasses cause it's just this vague, flesh-coloured blob.
