The public is invited to attend Ghosts of the Lower Mainland, a Halloween-themed Exhibition of Faux Fauvist Art, which is free-of-charge and will run from October 25 to October 28, 2019 at Studio 13 Fine Art (1315 Railspur Alley, Granville Island, Vancouver). How do I begin to talk about how much this trip meant to me? How do I start talking about how this group of friends I’ve truly connected with? The inspiration each and every one of them brought to me? The belief in myself that has been reinstated?
I’ve always been the kind of person who’s only had a handful of friends, because I always felt too distant or depressed as a person to connect with a group. Like I was being tolerated or never truly included, but this, this was the first time I really felt included by the what? 20 people on the trip?
Grabbing coffee in the mornings, having drinks at night after work. Just being surrounded by people who enjoyed each other company was a breath of fresh air for a person who works from home for such long hours. It almost feels like a dream having such a strong group of inspired people, each amazing at what they do, around me. Pushing me to do better for no other reason than wanting me to succeed.
