Long way from home... by PFYoussouf Long way from home... by PFYoussouf
(AIRSOFT PICTURE) I don't know why but il really like this picture. Colors, position of player. She looks like hundred others but... First, she's mine :D Secondly, i don't find words to place on felling but when i look this picture i feel... Something :)

Edit : I think i find why this picture "talk to me" With few elements, flowers, mountain, sky and player, the picture don't... "tell his story" Who is this guy ? Where is he ? What he looks ? What he think ? Is he really far from home ? Everybody can make is own personnal story and i like the idea ;)

ha ha ha ha ha !

Yes it's an airsoft pic but no, i haven't team of WW2 here, just few passionate friends who like (almost love) WW2 or Vietnam period and play as US, german, vietnamese or english players, even against GIGN, russian or futurist players :)

I'm not sure you can find in one place an entire WW2 team but in the opposite side, i'm totally sure that you can find OP or rally, historical or not, in your country. My friends play in france, a deviant art friend play WW2 in polish and i have contacts in US, Gemany and russia, i'm sure if you search a little you will find what you search ;)

Thanks for advice and for the "superbe" :p

Well , that's still sweet ! :D
Here almost everyone plays modern , US mainly , a bit Russian , and from time to time freelancers join with a more original gear , or some local stuff ( Belgian ABL Camo :P )

Yeah , in France there's a couple teams that play WW2 or just attend OPs , but again , Germany , UK , France , it ain't far , but a WE for an OP ain't cheap either ;)
God i really need to move to the UK or something , Belgium is too small , there's nuthing cool here besides fries , chocolate and beer :(

Belgium ? Hum... Search on the web i'm almost sure you can find WW2 OP or players in France near the belgium border. Maybe near Strasbourg, Nancy or in the north in the Ardennes. (think about historical commemoration too)

Once, i go in the south of france for a vietnam OP where i was a photograf non player, i won't regret kilometers. Try, maybe it will be a good surprise too ;)u can with time and motivation, like i do since four years, create your own OP

Or you can, like i do since four years, create your own OP...

As you want :)

Yeah , there's a bunch of Reenactment Events here , but airsoft , i already looked , nothing :P
Not to mention people are quite picky here on your outfit , even in Reenactment Events , you almost have to " hide yourself " in you dress as German , unless you have quite a bunch of buddies :D

Create my own OP , dang , sounds real nice ;)

"tensions" about german dress code in airsoft or worst in history is a silly hypocrite thing. Vietnam, tibet, cuba, south american or african dictatures, Algéria, Balkans, Yougoslavia, Syria, etc, etc... "better" "cleaner" wars ?...

And in reenactment it's stupid... If they are no germans, other nations stay at home... ^^

Create is own OP take time, a lot of but it is worth it !

Yeah i know right ?
I mean , i used to do a bit of Soviet Reenactment , and altough sometimes people looked at use in a weird way , everyone's okay with Soviets , altough in the end , the killed much more people than Nazis ...
But oh well , i get that in a country that was under German Occupation during both WWs there's a bit of tensions , altough most folks just don't know their history and are just thaught that everyone who wears a German uniform is a Nazi . And if you were a Soviet uniform people think you're Communist , it ain't actually much better -___-

Yeah , + Reenactment without Germans is just stupid . I once attended and Event where there was only Allies ... Well , we just sat all day around a table enjoying the bright sun and cold beers ... It was fun , but that's no Reenactment .

soviets, nazis, history is written by those who won... If really someone win...

After, this uniform is the wechmacht uniform before nazi uniform. For us (friends association) once a player proves his detachment from political, racial or historical ideology he can play with this uniform. Only nazis or third reich symbols are prohibited. (but you can use for movie or reenactment with government authorization)

If you read french i've already write something about this subject => pfyoussouf.wordpress.com/2014/…

If not... sorry :)

I really like this shot, especially the pose and angle. It makes you look at it and think about it, exactly what a picture should do!

I am flattered.

Maybe more coming (when ? that's the question) with the same 82nd uniform and maybe (again) others with vietnam (Us/viet) uniforms. It's all question of time, just 24 hours per day ;) Thanks for comment !!

82nd ? I just watched, there is no stripe on a uniform
Is it M42 and they didn't carry M65 on Vietnam?

I'm not a specialist of paratroopers but yes, it's a ww2 uniform from 82nd unit. Picture for vietnam wars will be with others gears. Check here => pfyoussouf.deviantart.com/art/… or in "TIGER BERR" folder for somes vietnam gears.

I thank for information :)
Yes, I know that it is worthwhile expanding the knowledge, but  I'm starting
So I'm slowly inquiring more and more. And I am fascinated D-Day :)
Whether you are reconstructing something ?

There's a lot to learn to this period, on lot of subjects. read "D Day : the battle of normany" by Antony Beevor, it's a really good book.

I'm not playing WW2 or vietnam period but i'm like you, interessed by thoses periods, i've friends fans more than me and i like pictures so it's easy to mix :)

Hum... To late to debate but you're also right. Regrettably i'm afraid that ""just"" thinking is not enought... Regrettably again, knowledge don't stop (idiocraty) the need which have some to amass power more and more... Thanks for comment and peace to you too ;)
