Ringnecked pheasant

The ring-necked pheasant, also known as the common or blue-headed pheasant, is a chicken-like game bird with a long tail and iridescent copper and gold plumage. Native to Asia, they were introduced to North America in the 1800s and are now found in rural areas, particularly agricultural lands, across the U.S. and southern Canada. They are a popular game bird and are stocked on land in some areas.
