Class and Design:

It belongs to the "M-class" of locomotives, known for its unique 4-8-0 wheel configuration, sometimes called a "Mastodon" due to its size.

Current Location:

The 475 is currently in operation on the Strasburg Rail Road in Pennsylvania.

History:

It was originally built in 1906 and served on the Norfolk and Western Railway until 1962.

Notable Feature:

The 475 is the only operating 4-8-0 class locomotive in North America.

Movie Appearance:

It gained widespread recognition after appearing in the movie "Thomas and the Magic Railroad".

Restoration:

After being purchased by Strasburg, the 475 underwent a major restoration process before returning to service.
