Nickel Plate Road 765

Type: A 2-8-4 "Berkshire" type locomotive, known for its "superpower" technology and aesthetic charm

Built: In 1944 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio

Size: 15 feet tall, weighs 404 tons, and has 25x34" cylinders and 69" drivers

Speed: Can reach speeds of over 60 miles per hour

History: Operated fast, heavy freight and passenger trains for the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad until its retirement in 1958

Current status: Owned and maintained by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society (FWRHS) in Indiana

Features: Powered exclusively by volunteers, the locomotive is restored to the way it looked and sounded when it was originally built
