Indeed. dA might have its issues but I still am here because of the wonderful people, like you, that I've met here.

It's a badly-thought-out law, written at the behest of organisations that would rather have the Internet be bent out of shape to suit them (and allow their outdated business models to continue) rather than adapt to face the new reality that the Internet has brought about. :| Signed the petition, plus several others, and I support groups like Avaaz who campaign to shame our supposed leaders into doing what's right instead of what's profitable.

I couldn't agree more. I feel it would be nice if these companies for once could actually do something to make a contribution instead of trying to kick everything else over :noes:

I've already signed!

I blame the proposition on the conspiracies of SPECTRE! :iconbondplz:

(I was going to blame it on communism and tried to find a plz of J Edgar Hoover or Joseph McCarthy, but failed and took the closest analogies. :p )

also I still don't agree with SOPA.

but $spyed made a journal saying it won't affect DA.

He didn't say that, he said SOPA is bad.

"Our view at deviantART regarding SOPA is that it's probably a bad idea. There should be better ways to deal with mass infringement on the Internet than this. This bill in our view can be seen as a threat to the open Internet itself and this is very hard to digest or support." - $spyed

$dxd said it won't affect DA.. [link]

Then he linked me to this. [link]

He cannot be 100% certain, laws and regulations have a tendency to shift and to do things no one planned them to do because when they put it in place they had 'good intentions'!

I'd not particularly think dxd's info would be accurate, or to put it better, it would not be info I would take at face value. And with anything of this sort it's worth looking into on your own. Plus just because it may or may not affect dA doesn't make it less bad. The whole thing sucks =[
