Initially in school and listening to The Smiths :giggle: and then I moved to Australia when I was 17, then went to University there, and by the 3rd year I was speaking it really fluently. It took about 4 years of speaking it all the time to start dreaming in English, but at least 10 years before I started doing math in my head in English (they say this is a true indication of how well you speak a language).
I used to be very fluent in Russian, but as I started speaking English on daily basis, it literally replaced Russian. So now I understand it quite well still, but I just can't get any words out. Weird  But if I went to russia for like a year, I think it would come back.

How interesting  I dream both in Swedish and English and have done so for as long as I can remember o.O Why did you go to Australia?

Wow, that is interesting! Did you speak both languages at home or how did it come about?
We moved when the war started, sadly enough...

Nope, my parents sound horrible when they try to speak English. I just watched a lot of tv when I was a kid. I even freaked my mum as a really small child, maybe 4-5 when I once asked her if the person on the tv said [insert here] and she looked at me and just stared because that was exactly what the person had said in Dallas or whatever show it was. I lost that when I got a bit older and started learning English but then I watched a lot of Cartoon networks and MTV and that was before they subtitled or dubbed it.

Family. Dad started speaking english at the breakfast table. If we wanted him to pass us something we had to learn what it was called and then ask for it :3

Learned when I started going to school. My parents didn't speak any English at the time, so it was up to the teachers to teach me English.
