It's a badly-thought-out law, written at the behest of organisations that would rather have the Internet be bent out of shape to suit them (and allow their outdated business models to continue) rather than adapt to face the new reality that the Internet has brought about. Signed the petition, plus several others, and I support groups like Avaaz who campaign to shame our supposed leaders into doing what's right instead of what's profitable.
"Our view at deviantART regarding SOPA is that it's probably a bad idea. There should be better ways to deal with mass infringement on the Internet than this. This bill in our view can be seen as a threat to the open Internet itself and this is very hard to digest or support." - $spyed
I'd not particularly think dxd's info would be accurate, or to put it better, it would not be info I would take at face value. And with anything of this sort it's worth looking into on your own. Plus just because it may or may not affect dA doesn't make it less bad. The whole thing sucks =[
