And now the last one in the series of 2012-art. Next feature will be contest winners

About the feature: I asked at the end of 2012, in the forums, for people's personal favourite from that year and they had to explain WHY. I'm therefore, finally, showcasing the art and the artist's reason to picking the art. For once it's not about the most faved one or the one that got a DD but about those that made us do something new, taught us something, that took hours on end faster than usual... no matter the reason it's about what the artist think and not everyone else.

Why I do this feature? I do this feature because I think it's important to remind oneself that it's not about the favs, DDs or views, the most important opinion about your art should be your own. Not how popular it is. Your favourite artwork should be so no matter how few or many favs it has. You are entitled to your own opinion about your work. Favs or even a DD doesn't and shouldn't determine how YOU feel about each of your pieces but we sometimes seem to forget that along the way. The value isn't in the comments, favs, DDs, views or what other people think - it's just positive reinforcement. Think about your achievement. So this is a reminder that you should do what you love to do in art, not art to please others and you should love your work no matter how much love it gets from other people. It's a reminder to stop and think which work is your personal favourite if you strip it from all it's favs, comments, views and possible DD.
