One more concept of fictional sword in modern version. To get job done in one session model is simple. Core is blade made of 1 piece of metal with piece of plastic part mounted on each side  served as a main and front grip.  No any fancy features around, just simple lines made by modern technology and materials. 

I worked in 3ds max, used vray rendering engine and finished it in photoshop.
