F5000 sniper rifle by peterku F5000 sniper rifle by peterku
Recently I uploaded concept of scifi rifle (FN-4000-main).

This one is supposed to be family with it. Concept of scifi sniper rifle for fictional megapolis story. Both models run on batteries engaged behind grip. No bullets.  It operates in 2 modes. AP (Antipersonnel) has 30 rounds or AM (Antimaterial) has 8 rounds.

I did two pictures. Both are quite large as usual in my case for better view of details.

1. Main - F5000 sniper rifle
2. Secondary - FN5000-secondary

I made this concept in 3ds max and render engine I used V-ray. Model is highpoly.

So what? Do you like it or not? Tnx for comments if any and bye.

You should work for Cloud Imperium. They're the company designing Star Citizen and I think your designs for weapons and their foothold in semi-realism would do well together

Ah, I was wondering about those similarities. All of the weapons you have here bear similar elements, so I was wondering whether or not you had collaborated with them yet

I honestly prefer solid biased ammunition over energy biased cause an energy biased sniper rifle shot wouldn't go for very ultra long ranges, while solid shell ammunition wouldn't work very well in specific environments the same can be said about energy biased weapons. Cool sniper rifle design but I kinda had thought it was solid shell biased using gauss or railgun propulsion design, kinda irked that its actually an energy biased weapon.

hi. nowadays rail gun or gauss desing is very popular due real prototypes testings in armies in the present. I tried to make something new so I didnt follow classic raail desings and did this one. just for change.

Now when you say "No Bullets" what does it shoot? Does it shoot lasers, plasma, or some other direct energy weapon system? Personally I love the vented coils you designed, I thought it was a Gauss rifle at first.

Just read the other comments someone already brought up my question my bad. Also if this were a gauss rifle or any other coilgun than changing the power output could mean the difference between a projectile going the speed of airsoft bb or an anti material round.

Anti-Material huh? So it could be able to stop or "marginally disable" specific vehicle types?

so if there are no bullets then what kind of ammo does it use i would really like to know. the definition for bullet is a projectile for firing from a rifle, revolver, or other small firearm, typically made of metal, cylindrical and pointed, and sometimes containing an explosive. and if it doesn't use bullets then why is there a magazine

hi. I used battery instead of magazine. it could work with some kind of beam of particles for example.

tnx. I did it shorter so I can add mass around the body. Battery is in the rear section on the bottom so "barrel"  is all along the length. and there is practically no balistic way I would go with range up to 4 km. therefore I did scope very massive.

Really sexy, if i had a wish free, i would add a longer barrel to show range and penetration power. But as compact and tatcical practical rifle very nice, and a wish for every sniper.

My good sir your weapon designs are out of this world,  the only problem I have when looking at them is the material. It looks like some sort of toy plastic. Each of them have the same color , can't you change it to gun metal. The weapon looks well designed , something I noticed from your designs is that they are always flowing nicely. Let me rephrase that. The edges of them and the shapes really flow nicely into each other,  giving it a futuristic look,  is this something you had planned when making them?
The barrel should be longer in snipers but the problem some might have is comparing an energy weapon with one that shoots bullets. By the looks of that scope I'm assuming this is either voice commands based technology because I cant seem to find buttons to change the view.

Overall an excellent job in terms of design.

Tnx mate. I play with different material, not only steel. something between plastic or ceramic but it definitely should not look like a plastic toy :). Try to change it next time.

Coming from someone with considerable experience with many guns: sniper rifles, assault rifles, shotguns, etc.

-A carrying handle should never inferfere with support placement for a forward hand. The carrying handle should be moved from behind the bipod.
-Heat shields are a lightweight way to combine stable support, heat dispersal, and barrel masking. It also allows the barrel to be rested on the hand without worrying about the barrel becoming too hot to touch. The closer to the barrel you can support a gun the more accurate your shots become.
-A key point for sniper rifles is the ability to pull the trigger without disturbing your shot alignment. If you don't have a good way to provide bone support in a situation where you cannot use the bipod, your shots will be very inaccurate over long distances.
-Slings are an effective way to transport the gun, and can provide a fast and easy way to stabilize the gun for sustained fire, but this gun has no sling attachments.
-Sniper rifles generally have a broad, smooth area just behind the scope mount in order to provide the shooter a place to "meld" with the stock of the gun, allowing consistent eye-scope distance, which is a key point to zeroing the gun and having consistent accuracy.

Aside from that, the tilt on the trigger is a little far swept back, the trigger would be manipulated almost straight back, so having it tilt that far would make it awkward to handle. I love the detail on the gun and overall it has a very striking impression. Great work overall.

Hi. Tnx for objections. I take them all. that front support I placed lower as the "Barrel" area is suppose to be hot for touching. and as I wrote. All other objecttions I accept. They look reasonable.

Nice gun. The barrel seems a bit short for a long-range sniper rifle, though the Bull-pup configuration might compensate for some of that. What's the calliber?

So if it doesn't use bullets, what does it fire? Is it a directed energy weapon of some kind?

my guess is something like from star wars bursts of "particle beam energy" it would explain the two different modes. they would just be high and low energy

Saw this on the general page.  I like it, but as a sniper rifle it should (imo) have a longer barrel for improved velocity, etc. than your secondary concept to make it more realistic, unless you're looking at a similar range between the two.  However, that would make the sniper rifle obsolete.

Hi. I tried for diferent look. inside design is based on implication  that internal "barrel" is deploy in whole length from end to front. Battery and grip are under it and what I saved on length Iadded on the mass in the middle.

you don't need barrel length for a weapon that peterku has said doesn't use bullets. it probably fires a  particle beam like in star wars or a laser in ether case you would not be firing anything along a barrel. so it doesn't need to be long

We almost always enjoy the models you come up with from various perspectives, and this one is certainly no different. Though we are normally reluctant to comment for lack of anything to say beyond 'good job' and 'amazing work' this one has grabbed our attention more so than the others though we cannot pinpoint exactly why.

In a world of very interesting pieces as far as firearms go, this is one we could see ourselves going out of our way for as a primary choice.

Tnx you mate. I always call for critic. it is best way for improving. therefore you can put aside words like good job or amazing job and can try to point up flaws in functionality and mainly 3d work. Everyone's work can be subjected to critic and there is always room for beeing better.
