This new historical WW2 painting depicts the advance of the British XXX Corps along the main road of advance during the early stages of Operation Market Garden In the Netherlands, Sept 1944. Have been meaning to complete this for some time so happy I have now done so.

60 miles of road, you would have thought bomber command would have been tasked with carpeting every mile on both sides of the road with bombs. The terrain was so sodden that it was difficult to leave the road to engage the ambushers.
