This awesome sketch art card of Taweret from Egyptian Mythology is drawn by the very talented artist Amy Pronovost for our Classic Mythology III trading card set.
Taweret - In Egyptian mythology, Taweret (also spelled Taurt, Tuat, Taouris, Tuart, Ta-weret, Tawaret, Twert, and Taueret) is the protective ancient Egyptian goddess of childbirth and fertility. The name "Taweret" (Tȝ-wrt) means, "she who is great" or simply, "great one," a common pacificatory address to dangerous deities. The deity is typically depicted as a bipedal female hippopotamus with feline attributes, pendulous female human breasts, and the back of a Nile crocodile. She commonly bears the epithets “Lady of Heaven,” “Mistress of the Horizon,” “She Who Removes Water,” “Mistress of Pure Water,” and “Lady of the Birth House.”

A very cheerful goddess ... and delicious sketch
This reminds me of an idea I had where Beshte the hippopotamus from The Lion Guard meets Tawaret and they talk for a bit. The goddess tells him that she can read his mind and even guesses the number he's thinking about in his head. Good work on the hippo goddess.
