Personality/Background:

Nautical Dawn is the seemingly impossible earth pony daughter of queen Twilight. Naut was once a happy, curious child, but as she got older she began to find herself in a sort of unfair situation. Nautical has deep rooted insecurities about her physical appearance, mostly based on her lack of “magical features.” She becomes brooding and more reclusive, from playful and kind to paranoid and compulsive. Although she isn’t set to inherit the throne she is desperately trying to get as close to it as possible. Naut was “blessed” with a mix of  both of her mothers’ persevering nature and Twilight’s obsessive tendencies, making her both an amazing student, and possibly a cunning antagonist. Not evil, but so driven that boundaries begin to fade away.

Relationships:

-Since they were younger Nautical admired her twin’s magic, but as she grew up that quickly turned to jealousy. Civil plays this very well, being manipulative himself, he uses her longing for power and recognition to his advantage. Their relationship, to the outside world, seems close and bubbly due to Civil’s facade. But on the inside, their whole family knows that they have a tense, frenemy dynamic. Civil worried about his secrets being discovered, Nautical paranoid that she’s being used, but doesn’t know how.

-Nautical, unlike Civil, is close with her mothers having studied both to be a guard under Tempest, and to be a diplomat under Twilight. Sometimes it seems that her parents are the only ones she shows affection to, both through general respect and much needed hugs.

Special:

-Has a huge connection with magic channeled through mind and hooves.

-Her special talent allows her to navigate cleverly through situations, this makes her a skilled diplomat in Twilight’s court.

-She has learned many languages in order to excel at her job, most notably the Changeling’s non verbal clicking communication. She is the only non changeling hybrid pony to speak this language.
