King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella is a Sierra game from 1988. It has always been an inspiration to me. And for that reason, I decided to try my hand at recreating some of the scenes from the old game. Here we have Rosella, she has just navigated the perils of the very dark troll cave. She has discovered an exit upon the far side of the cave that leads to a swamp!

This one is for all the fellow Sierra, King's Quest, and Rosella fans that might still be out there! :)

I'm not in a position to do commission work at this time, but I hear and appreciate the interest. No worries, King's Quest IV goes all the way back to the beginning with me :)

So cool to see people still making art based on this game, used to have it for the Apple IIGS. Nice work on this pic!

It's an old favorite of mine, and outside of Choose Your Own Adventure books, and Daphne from Scooby Doo, KQIV is 100% my inspiration for peril! So allow me to say that it's so cool that you are here to appreciate something so old school :)

You are very welcome. It's nice to wax nostalgic about an old classic and peril filled game.

Nice.  I remember your old Rosella choose your own adventure site.  Would be cool to see another such adventure.

Thanks, that was the first project I ever undertook. Only got to the start of chapter 3 of 3. I will have to go back and finish that up someday! It would take some serious sorting out of the threads and outlining where the heck I was taking the story, and of course finding the inspiration, time, and commitment. Such are the perils of any creative endeavor lol!

The shoes are not clearly visible due to the lighting and background

Love this scene! Kind of reminds me of my Pantyhose Princess in Skyrim, but Rosella is even less prepared for medieval adventure than the Princess is. Things can't possibly go well for her.

Thanks! Rosella was famous a character in 1988 where it was very rare that you could play a computer game as a female character. Not the least of which made it unique that she could meet a number of grisly fates!

Good to see you visiting Rosella again. I really enjoyed your work with Kings Quest and would love to see you continue returning to Rosella in the future.

Man, eff that effing troll cave. I've replayed this game so many times and the "jump scare" aspect of it still has me tense every time.

LOL, your comment gave me a good laugh, including the fact that I wholeheartedly agree! *wrings fist in the air.
