About me.

I'm not especially artistic, but I appreciate the art of others in a kind of "I wish that I could do that" kind of way. I dabble in sketching using plain old pencil on paper, but my main these days Digital. A little photo editing, and a little Photoshop.

I work extensively in Daz Studio\Poser. You can see a couple of the renders that I have done on this page, but most of what I do goes elsewhere. This page is mostly here for my web comic. It's cheap and cheerful, and not my best work by any stretch of the imagination, but I guess that's what happens when you need 6 or 7 renders per page. It's a little bit about Alien Abduction, and a lot about how much high school and small towns can suck if you aren't one of the pod people.

More to the point. I'm a committed non conformist. I don't do "peer pressure", and I hate being told what to do or what to think, and I have a personal beef with anything that calls itself "mainstream". Be it art, culture or science. Particularly when said "Mainstream" spends more time putting down people who disagree with it through cheap shots and ridicule, than it does defending its perspective through evidence and or reasoned argument.

Although I resemble it sometimes, I'd hesitate to call myself a Goth. The Goth scene has become somewhat commercialized over the last 10 years, to the point that stores like Hot Topic are ripping off the Goth look and are selling it as a novelty lifestyle choice called "Emo". Which is what you might get if Goth were brought out by a greeting card company. Emo is just another way of conforming while pretending that you aren't.

Yes, I am thin and pale, yes I do dress in flowing black clothes with a semi-occult on theme (Not that being a Goth has anything to do with the occult, I hasten to add), and no I don't have anything pieced. Not not a nipple, not an eyebrow, not even an ear. That would be too much like conforming for me.

Even Ponies can't Stop Marvel from Sucking #3
Ponies make most things better, but it seems that even Fluttershy prevent yet another Marvel comic from sucking.

Just a quick ponification of a well known cover from a company that's gone from being at the top of the game to being at the top of a steaming pile.

OK, this one isn't entirely fair as I quite like Squirrel Girl, mostly because the comics aren't supposed to be taken seriously. But even Marvel manages to screw her up.

Ponies make most things better, but it seems that even Pinkie can't yet another totally idiotic Marvel reboot from sucking.

Just a quick ponification of a well known cover from a company that's gone from being at the top of the game to being at the top of a steaming pile.

Judging from Pinie's expression, I may have been channelling Ishida Sui when I drew this. I think that Carnage just peed itself.

For some reason, a lot of the townies that have moved here over the last couple of years have this ... thing ... about kale. Particularly organic kale (given that they mostly seem to eat junk food, this is a little odd. I guess they like the idea of kale more than actually eating it).

I'm pretty certain that this started out as a joke on TV, but that they thought that it was a real thing and jumped on the band wagon.

Anyway, apparently, kale can be pretty expensive in some parts of the country. Especially when brought from large chains like Whole Foods.

Apparently, this is down to me.

I happen to come form an organic farm that grows, amongst other things, kale. We don't farm much of it as other crops give us a better yield in this climate, but the townies don't know that. They just know that we have farm kale, and that it's expensive in big chains in the suburbs.

Which is why the other day one of the townies accused me of hoarding kale in order to keep the price high. So that I could line my wicked kale farming pockets with their hard earned cash.

Yes, apparently I'm holding back stocks of kale at levels so great that no other farm in the country can make up the shortfall.

So, if you happen to be a farmer, or to grow produce in an vacant lot, or even your own back yard, just remember, that you can't possibly be farming Kale, and that suburban stores arn't price gouging on organic food. It's me and me alone that's distorting the market by hoarding all of the kale.

Having spent some in close proximity to more Snowflakes\millennial townies than I care to think of I've become accustomed to some of their less than exemplary character traits. Most of their antics cease to shock or surprise me any more. But I'm still somewhat intrigued by them, and how they always find a new thing to be offended at, or some new way to show how out of touch they are with the real world.

Apparently, according to them at least: Effort = Discrimination. Or, to put it another way, if one person has something that another doesn't, then it's unfair. Regardless of how that other thing was obtained.

Things started off simply enough. My local community center was renovated over the summer, and my Dojo: which is part of the community center decided that they'd do something a little bit special. They put in racks on one side of the training hall that we could use to hang our belts and swords on to show our achievements. Kinda like those displays that you see sometimes in martial arts movies.

The racks weren't particularly grandiose. They were ordered out of a catalogue and probably came form a factory in China. But we had one each and we were told that we could decorate them or put a name plate on them if we wanted.

So, I took mine home. Dismantled it. I sanded it down, lacquered it, left it to dry, and then sanded and lacquered it a couple more times. Once I was done I etched a plum blossom design into it and melted faux gold into the etching.

It's no masterpiece, but looks pretty sweet.

A couple of my friends who are also pretty handy did something similar. Ranging from French Polishing to rustic antiquing.

Some of the townies did not like this one bit, and they were very vocal about it.

We're not talking something as simple as envy here. I can respect envy. It's a natural human emotion and one that I'm by no means unfamiliar with myself (If you don't have freckles, I absolutely HATE you). We're talking full on social justice territory, here.

They absolutely flipped out and accused the Dojo of discriminating against them. They said that it was unfair that they were stuck with the basic models while we had our own customized racks. And that everybody should be exactly the same else it was unfair to those who didn't have something different.

The fact that we'd started off with what they had, and used our skills and creative experience to make something more out of it was totally lost on them. As was the fact that it had taken me the best part of a week to do, and some of my friends even longer.

They couldn't explain why it was discrimination, they couldn't even explain who was doing the discriminating. In fact, they could barely articulate why they were upset at all. They could simply see that we had something that they didn't, and the first thought that went through their heads was that this was in some way wrong. That they'd been wronged, and that we were the villains of the piece.

To their credit, not all of the townies were like this they agreed that we'd clearly made something worth celebrating. Some of them wanted to know if we could do the same for them in exchange for "financial remuneration" (I take cash, credit card, and several forms electronic payment platforms), and a few even asked if we could show them how to do it themselves. Which, frankly, was the biggest surprise of the day.

Oddly, the ones who liked what we did, and wanted help to do their own, were almost all boys.

Well, I say oddly, but it does seem to be a trend right now. Especially since the townies were segregated to the grade school earlier in the year. With far more boys choosing to remain in the high school than girls, I think that maybe some of them are realizing that there is something to the traditional way of life, and that things such as effort are worth putting in.

No problem, I've been looking for some quality Comipo resources, but there doesn't seem to be very much out there. At least not when compared to other packages. Keep it up.

Just an Irish guy praising a Family Guy episode for calling out SJW bullshit. It opens immediately with, "I have a lot of respect for Seth MacFarlane." So I guess don't click it if there's anyone nearby who hates Seth MacFarlane.

Hi, I came across one of your DAZ3D works by accident (I was looking to see if there were DAZ Studio-compatible tactical shotgun freebies available on DA through search, and one of your works popped up). I have to say, it's cool to come across another user with which I have two things in common... A passion for DAZ Studio, and Michigan (I was born in Detroit, but raised in Warren, Romeo, and the Port Huron area (in that order)). Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and to let you know I'll be giving you a Llama and a Watch (although I'm not into the MLP stuff, but I have nothing against it either) in case you do anymore DAZ-related artwork. Keep up the good work!

A lot of the DAZ stuff isn't mine. I took over this account form somebody else as I didn't want to look like I was new to the internet. I mostly only do pony comics.

Yes, the original account holder was a friend of a friend a couple of towns over.

I've done a little DAZ, but One Night in Michigan isn't mine.
