Altoids Small Tin - Coral Reef

The first of the Altoids Smalls tins I used for ponds. This one is my second attempt at a saltwater version, and my first attempts at a new fish - clown fish. :)

Misjudged the "water" level when I made it. It's a learning process, that's for sure!

This one isn't for sale at the moment as I'm taking it to Omni Expo. So if you're heading there, you might be able to grab it! :)

The water is made from resin. The coral and fish are made from polymer clay.

Love your altoids sets, they are really cute and well done!
Was just wondering about using resin if you had any tips at all?
I'm planning on using sand in a project, was just wondering if i should put a thin layer of resin in before the sand or just layer it on top?

Thank you! I'm trying to incorporate the coral and fish into jewelry somehow. I'll get it figured out eventually. :)

Is there much of a difference between polymer and sculpey clay?

Sculpey clay is a brand of polymer clay. :)

You could make a lil' microscopic biosphere by overlaying miniatures with fractal art couldn't you?

I don't think I quite get what you're saying. Sorry. :(

I mean to say that if you made like a minituarite landscape inside the Altoid box, with the right kind of fractal art it could like like there's a whole ecosystem of microscopic organisms swimming around in the tin.

Haha, I've been working with so many neutral colors with these tins I may have gone overboard. :)
