Hello fellow deviants! How is everyone doing? So, I felt like talking about sketching, sketchbooks, the act of traditional drawing and things of that nature. As you all know, I've temporarily switched gears with my art. The move from digital to traditional came part way out of necessity and part way out of want. Due to my current situation, I can't devote a lot of time to drawing so doing smaller, quicker things works better for me right now. I figure, I need to practice, I need to sharpen my skills and, go out of my comfort zone a bit. Keeping a sketchbook facilitates all those things nicely.
It hasn't been that easy though. I am spoiled for the comforts of digital drawing. I had to relearn a lot and I'm still not all there yet but I'm getting better. The good thing about a sketchbook is you don't have to be neat and clean. You can have messy work, janky lines and poorly constructed sketches and that's ok because it's all just practice. I get too caught up in symmetry and smooth lines
