Description

Frisco Train Station, Fort Smith, AR

The Frisco Train Station was built in 1903 by the St Louis-San Francisco Railway in Fort Smith Arkansas, next to the site of the old Fort. It was constructed of Limestone and featured a portico on the front end supported by 10 full length columns. These were removed in the 1970s Century due to the expansion of a bridge in front of the building. The building ceased use as a train station in the 1950s, though the railroad running along side it is still in use.
